Week 8 : Conclusions

"An end is only a beginning in disguise."-Craig D. Lounsbrough

In terms of content and tasks, this will be a relatively light week. We've run out of road and the car is slowing to a stop. It's almost time to chill.

As you approach your final reflection for this course I'd like you to contemplate some of the concepts baked-in to the Collective Wisdom Field Study linked below. Among the bits I'd like you to explore in your final reflection is how the concepts in this field study intersect with the concepts we've explored in digital storytelling & learning.

Collective Wisdom Field Study (2019). MIT Open Documentary Lab

This Week's Tasks
  1. Watch and read all of the above.

  2. Complete your Digital Story (3) using 3 distinct forms of media you have either created or remixed in a substantial way. This will be due by Wednesday July 31st.

  3. Smile and complete the Weekly-Thing, posted to Slack on Wednesday.

  4. Complete and submit your Final Reflection by Sunday August 4th. Like before, this can be done via StoryLab or privately via Slack. Take inventory of the topics and stories explored in this course and tell me your story. I'm not going to be too prescriptive here, but I want you to convince me that you applied yourself and reflect on your learning experience - good, bad or otherwise. I want your authenticity and honesty.

  5. That's it. We've arrived. Exhale. Gather around the fire and let's reflect on the trip. Please check back in Slack after Thursday August 8th for my final feedback. I'd like to extend an open invitation to anyone who would like to Zoom and talk about it. About the course, about your grade, about storytelling - whatever - the door is open.
